Peace……..

Racing within, wrapping each breath
Making me out of breath, chocking
Gulping the dreams, inculcating the gloom
Curbing all imaginations, blocking
And crawling like a serpentine
Lethal, cruel and serene
Yet loud as a roar and dark as smoke
My inner self is getting parted
And all my beliefs and faith are getting departed
My soul is screaming and trying to stay
But I am getting thrown by me, away far away
And within me I can see me dying
And holding my corpse, crying
Yet willing to rise from ashes like a phoenix
And willing to end my fears and failures
I wish to kill the happiness and murder the sorrow
To sit in the lap of absolute; nothing relative,
Beyond desires or accomplishments
Beyond the world of ephemeral sentiments
I wish to swim in the ocean of eternity
Beyond smiles or tears, beyond life or death
To end my mortal half and rest in peace……

The old guard

On a chair, rusty and dusty

Broken from leg, supported by plank

There sits an old man in uniform

His face is pale and eyes are blank

A stain on his torn uniform

And his hairs are all clumsy, grey and white

His hand, though strong, shakes,

And he remains awake the whole night

His voice echoes the streets and lanes

To ask the inhabitants, to make them awake

But in heart, he knows, all are asleep

Leaving on his old shoulders, their whole stake

He walks from corner to corner,

Taps the shutters and ground with his cane

His mates, the street dogs, follow him

His routine is same, in summer, winter or in heavy rain

When effete, he sits on his broken, old chair

His immobile companion of the night

He thinks of his family, the one who left him

In the age when he is old, and having dim eye sight

He is there always, the guard of the night

He is honest and sincere, doesn't have any complain

Or perhaps life has taught him a lesson

That to complain is all in vain

He, thus, each night, picks his hat and cane

And walks in streets and that dirty lane

Even if it is shivering cold or heavy rain

He walks, wiping tears, enduring the pain

The dying dew….

The small pearl, which fell from heaven
Met the lotus leaf, rested whole night
That dew was now about to leave
With sunlight, it was having a fight
Slipping down the veins of leaf
Trying to hold it, trying to hold its existence
But soul of dew was being sucked by sun
And body was slipping in the pond, each instant
The little fighter, though managed to snatch
The fragrance of lotus with it
Melting it in its heart, and finally jumped in water
It thought its sacrifice wasted, went in vain
And no result came for its fight with pain
The fragrance it carried got mix with water, got lost
Seeing this, the dying dew cried and looked at heaven
It asked the almighty why it is getting such failure
Why no result came of its bravery, its valor
The omnipresent smiled, and made the dew realize
That from all nearby lotuses, its siblings did same exercise
They all together, mixed the fragrance in water,
Small as individual but astronomical as a team
And seeing this the dew smiled, and made a happy scream
The fragrance was softly carried by the blowing wind everywhere
The wind spread “saga of sacrifice” in each corner of earth, with smiling tear
The sun smiled at almighty, and blessed the dead dew
To live life and do die for a cause, this is a gift bestowed on a few

A Star

Staring you, o you little diamond
I can see your heart thumping hard
Making you blink, making you restless
You are tired, in this last hour of night
You wish to see, out of horizon, golden light
But still few grains are left in the sun glass
Still dew is fresh and shining in the grass
You want this darkness to end and sun to embrace
The cold and numb air with its arms, sun rays
And make you feel cozy and relaxed
But you know that will end your existence
You will not be visible in that instance
Instead you want to lose yourself for the god of light
This is a true worship, the epitome of sacrifice
As a true devotee of light, you fight hard with doom
And in the end lose yourself to make the light bloom

Losing....

Losing hopes of winning the game
Enervated sprit, effete I am
Lost in the imbroglio
Lost in the search of name
I have lost my hopes, inspirations
I have lost my soul’s innate celebrations
My conscience is dying, eyes are crying
I am witnessing fiasco, devastations
I lost the meaning of words, their use
Stuck in impasse, no way to choose
I am seeing my poetry dying
I have perhaps lost my shining muse
My pen is bleeding, but red not blue
Stains of my failure, dark and true
Making my life’s diary red with pain
Unable to endure it, unable to rescue
My lost muse horrifies me, chase me in dreams
In solitudes of life, I am entrapped, my woe screams
Carrying failure in veins instead of blood
Hatred and envy are my persisting regimes
A snickers née in hand, I wish to cut the vein
To let the blood of failure flow out, to break the chain
A slight shake, blood rushing out, embracing the ground
Sharp pain making my mind numb, I am lying near a lane
Eyes getting closed, tears too evading me,
But I am not sad, I am feeling the glee
They may say I am a coward, weak soul
But I am happy to die, I am happy to flee

A writer...

A face, normal like others
Average height, he don’t have feathers
Yet he can fly
High in his own sky
In his world, in his thought
Innumerous battles he fought
He thinks a lot, and speaks very less
He bothers not of looks, neither of dress
For others he is reticent
He sounds weird, he is not decent
But his heart is sensitive to all
Issues of society or a kid’s lost doll
He contemplates on each aspect
He is the writer, he deserves respect
He has oodles of ideas, plethora of thoughts
He can think of cool sun, and polite bigots
He can see union of water and sun rays
He can define tears in some eccentric ways
He can make you smile by only few lines
He can define life in his beautiful rhymes
He is a wizard of words, a magic man
None can see the smile of bud on embracing dew, only he can
He has a beautiful heart, home to all feelings
In despair of life, his words are soothing, act as healings
A nice human, a sensitive chap, a deep thinker, and a tenacious fighter
He is a unique creation of god; he is a “Writer”.

A hungry beggar.....

Looking at it, feeling numb
Under hunger I am going to succumb
Wrinkles at my face getting deep
Someone threw food packet from a jeep
I can see shiny bread, peeping out
Out of joy, my heart is trying to shout
But weakness of being hungry for two full days
Is restraining me, albeit I am trying my ways
Moving on my knees, crawling, falling
I am reaching my destination,
A dog, is moving faster than me
I tried my best but couldn’t change destiny
One bread it took away, one left there
With saliva drops on the piece, I stare
I reached, grabbed it, as I plundered a treasure
Only someone hungry from three days can feel that pleasure
Removed the wet part, alas, hygiene concerned I am too
Or who will feed me even this, if I catch flu
Gulping it, chewing would delay its meeting
With my stomach, and I can’t bear it
My senses are waning, thoughts depleting
I grabbed another piece, hardly can I sit
Looking at my reflection in water spread on road
Pale face, bent shoulders, carrying invisible load
Load of being old, load of being so poor
Load of being homeless, load of being effete
I beg for alms, expecting your grandeur
But gets treatment worse than dogs, weirdly all treat
I surprised for they, they party each day
And threw all waste food for dogs in the way
But I am a human, why am I not preferred to a dog
Why I am not helped, is poverty itself my clog
They call me slacker, some call me skulk
But not even bother to know my reality, bulk
Of miseries I carry always, each new day
And look for thrown bread to eat, for it I pray
Even dogs now accept me as their supper mate
But I don’t find a place at any of human’s gate
What an irony, what a world to live in
They say to keep someone hungry is a sin
But no one bothers about my tears, my fears
My hunger, my plights, persisting since years
No one is here, to read my wet eyes
No one to offer me bread, no one to hear my cries.

A WoRLd InSiDe ME

Closing my eyes, introspecting
Lying on the chair, resting
Hands in the lap
I was into a deep nap
“Colors “I was witnessing
Blue, red, yellow, orange
Chariots of thoughts, I was chasing
Then (I) saw a dark spray
Mixing my palette of thoughts
With shades of gloom and grey
Lugubrious and dark
No hope to cherish, no spark
Sweat drops slipped my forehead
I was scared, horrified and sad
Then saw a sun ray knocking the face of river
Touching it, mixing in it, and making it shiver
Colors of their union reflected, all around
I found myself smiling, standing at ground
Then I flew high, high into the space
Was beating the galaxies, magical pace
I jumped into the ocean, to swim, to play
Dolphins, all blue in color, joined me then
We sailed miles, shared smiles, what more to say
It was evening, what an eccentric scene to see
The ocean was gulping the sun, with a glee
I was smiling, laughing, jumping on waves
Suddenly I felt, the wave is making me drown
And saw my mother’s face, there was anger and frown
With sweet words of praise she was about to slap
I realized there was a book in my hand, and I was in a nap
I realized it was the real world,” I must awake”
I went out of my world of dreams, for my own sake

Am I a different girl?

I was there, happy, smiling
Walking on the road, thinking
Kicking pebbles, watching
Looking the cloud of dust, blinking
Saw a bus, it was approaching me
I waved my hand, with a glee
It stopped, driver presented a grin
Into the bus I went, was it a sin
There were five living creatures in it
Often known as “human kind”, not “kind” albeit
They glared me, I was scared
In their eyes it was grim, in mine it was fear
Trespassing comments, vulgar talks,
I got upset, stumped, in corner of eye it was a tear
Soon their talks got intense, all dirty, non sense
I soon realized something bad was going to happen
I started shouting; I thought it was a weapon
But it was a secluded road, no one to hear my voice
I rushed to the gate to jump, I had no other choice
But the beasts then showed their real face
Rushed to me, one threw me on the seat, others were at a chase
I cried, I tried, and I fought, all in vain
Was witnessing hell, was enduring pain
They were beasts with dirt in mind
And I was regretting on being human kind
First, second and third, then I was unconscious
Blood and tears, pain and cries, gloomy and lugubrious
They threw me on the road, to hurt, to die
I found myself in hospital under hue and cry
In a day or two all were normal and casual
No one bothered for my justice, punishment for the cruel
Martinet my destiny, I am not from a big city
Not much of people are aware in my vicinity
No media houses, no women welfare societies for me
No one took a stand to fight, to listen to my plea
Tears in my eyes, and hatred for all, known or unknown
I now can see around me everyone is a clown
Hiding its real face, hiding the real intentions, fake worry
They raise voice just to be famous, no real regrets, no sorry
I am a girl of small village, I am vulnerable,
They found me an easy target, weak and feeble
No one asked whether the guilty got nabbed,
Under political discussions and sixes of IPL, all are grabbed
I am alone, fighting the stigma, rising, wiping my tears
To face the world again, to face my fears
I will fight this all alone, no matter how long it will
Just a small request to all the inhabitants of my great nation
Don’t call yourselves conservators of great cultures,
You are just the scavengers, the wild vultures
Eager to eat the flesh out, you enjoy one’s shout
Keep with you your fake care, fake furry
If possible, just in your heart, feel a little sorry…

Weak Human Race….

I was standing, lost in my view
In my thoughts about my life
Having niche for a few

A horn, loud indeed, sharp too
Brought me back to mundane, tangible world
I realized I am at the gate of the city zoo

Smiled at my world of dreams
Looked at the cars, loud screams
Walked on the lane looking at tree
I was really feeling, “I am happy, I am free”
Three bikes, speeding and performing cuts
Heavy exhaust by them, ridden by some nuts

I noticed many pairs of eyes staring at me
Breaking my comfort, instilling insecurity
Breaking my believes about myself to be free

I know I am good looking, so what, is this a sin
Why can’t I roam freely? Kicking a can of tin

My ears then wanted to be deaf,
Hearing words, so hurting, so offensive
Comments wrapped in grim, crap

Anger turned into a small tear
I felt in my heart some fear
Then I questioned, am I wrong
If not, why to bear this, why not to be strong

I raised my head, with confidence in my eyes
Shouted loud, “shut up you scoundrels”
A shout out of rage, much large then my size

And amazed I was, happy and glad to see
Those self proclaimed heroes were running away, to flee
People all around, some were praising some were afraid
Some were consoling; I was thinking the encounter I just had

With shine in my eyes, I splashed water on my face
And went ahead, watching the weak human race.
